Telangana capital decided?

Though the Central government is projecting outwards that it is not looking towards any other options other than making Hyderabad as capital only for Telangana after   years, sources say that Congress leadership is working towards alternative formulas too.

The Congress gamble is that once it announces separate statehood for Telangana and pacify T-agitators and hit back at TRS, then it can work out some form of compromise. With reports that Centre is mulling some form of central control over Hyderabad and a UT like arrangement, there are chances that Warangal may be the capital of Hyderabad.

Even some Congress leaders are reportedly amenable to this proposal because if again all investments come to Hyderabad, then who will develop interior Telangana. But if Warangal is made the capital, then they are sure it will lead to all round development of the region.

KCR presents vision Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug 4 (INN): The formation of Telangana State might take another six months. But Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao is already out with a clear roadmap for the new State.

Participating in Meet The Press programme organised by Telangana Journalists Forum here on Sunday, KCR addressed the media like the first chief minister of Telangana. His talk was full of directions, assurances and promises. "For us, the Telangana state has already been formed," he said while quoting a recent statement of AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh.

With regard to the controversy surrounding his recent statement, KCR made it clear that he never asked employees of Seemandhra to leave Hyderabad. He blamed a section of media for misinterpreting his statement. "I only said that that while Seemandhra employees will work for Andhra Government, Telangana employees will work for Telangana Government," he said. People from across the country were settled in Telangana for centuries and he said never asked anyone to leave Hyderabad. Instead, he said he would welcome people who come with investments.

The TRS chief said that his party had no objection if Hyderabad was made the common capital for 10 years. However, he said making Hyderabad as union territory or a permanent joint capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was not acceptable. He said that the administration of Hyderabad would be under the control of Telangana Government.

When asked about the protests in Seemandhra region, KCR said that it was for the government to take measures to contain violence. However, he appealed to the people to cooperation in formation of Telangana.

KCR also gave assurance that Wakf properties in the Telangana State would be protected and developed by giving statutory powers to the Wakf Board. He said that there were several properties worth lakh of crores which could benefit the Muslim community if utilised as per the "Mansh-e-Wakf". He also gave an assurance on the overall development of Muslim community.

The TRS chief said that the Telugu film industry would stay in Hyderabad and would be promoted at a large scale.

AP became victim of dirty politics?

Strong votaries of Telugu unity and even analysts are asking this question whether the corruption charges during first five years of Congress rule and later the prevailing uncertainty in the state and now the current round of agitation, will Andhra Pradesh ever bounce back to the limelight and see growth again.

Though this can be dismissed as an overly pessimistic point of view, there seems to be an element of truth in it in case there is no compromise reached by  Centre between people of two regions and even if they fail in case of Hyderabad or the required fund allocation for building new capital in Andhra.

Some of the critics are also saying that this is a larger part of conspiracy by some of the leaders hailing from South India like Chidambaram, Verappa Moily among others how somehow wanted to destroy AP so that their states can grow well and there is no competition.

Political Parties in India

India has a multi-party system with a predominance of small regional parties. Political parties that wish to contest local, state or national elections are required to be registered in four or more states, and thus recognised as a "National party" by the EC. Otherwise, it is known as a "State Party."
